Andy Kopp is a Technical Director with Myrtle Consulting Group. Andy has 20 years of industry experience with diverse manufacturing concerns spanning aerospace, automotive, high-tech, and CPG. He also has 12 years of business consulting experience focused on process design, advanced analytics, and digital transformation. In his career, Andy has held a range of diverse roles including NC programmer, shop floor supervisor, automation engineer, factory integration manager, program/engagement lead, and practice director. Andy sees himself primarily as a “Business Technologist”; someone with a deep, pragmatic history of applying technology to the enablement, improvement, and transformation of business processes.
Andy claims to typically win the “obscure major award”, with a BS in Numerical Control Technology from Northern Illinois University. As a consultant, he has applied a manufacturing engineer’s mindset to the design of large-scale, cross-enterprise processes spanning multiple business functions (e.g. Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Product Design) and value streams (e.g. Procure to Pay, Quote to Cash, Idea to Product). As an Enterprise Architect, he has leveraged and extended process design into information and technology requirements for some of the leaders in their respective markets. Andy is a yard-fanatic and home-improvement hobbyist, spending much of his free time on the fulfillment of honey-dos. He and his wife have two adult children, and now enjoy exploring and traveling outside of the empty nest.
