Doug is a partner with Myrtle, where he is responsible for business growth and development. In his more than 20 years of experience in manufacturing and consulting, Doug has developed a unique combination of experience that makes him a resourceful and creative problem-solver with the vision and communication skills to formulate enterprise-based solutions. He is an energetic team player with a consistent and demonstrated track record of coalition building to produce fast results. He has extensive global experience, having worked on projects in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, South Africa, Australia, the U.K., France, Belgium, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Germany, India and China.
Doug earned his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and his bachelor’s degree from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
Doug began his career in the medical products manufacturing business. His consulting career includes time at Ernst & Young, Atos and Celerant, where he spent time on operational and technical issues. At Atos, he spent considerable time with shop floor, business intelligence and ERP information systems. For the past 10 years, he has focused his work on business and operational improvement consulting, leading major engagements with several Global 500 companies.
Doug has an excellent track record and a strong comfort level in working across all functional areas of business (supply chain, manufacturing, sales, information technology, research & development, engineering, marketing, finance and human resources) and at all organizational levels, building coalitions to develop and obtain “buy-in” and drive implementation for business case-driven operational improvement.
Representative projects include work in operational excellence, manufacturing performance improvement, supply chain planning, warehouse/DC optimization, logistics, DSD, sourcing, SKU optimization, innovation/new product introduction, trade promotion optimization, management systems and information technology. Representative clients include: Nestlé, Kellogg’s, Church & Dwight, Abbott, Cadbury, Dairy Farmers of America, Molson Coors, Campbell Soup, Clorox, Kraft, Sunny Delight Beverage Company, Hilmar Cheese, Lactalis, Coca-Cola Enterprises, Georgia-Pacific, Pinnacle Foods, GNP Company, Windsor Foods, Lexmark, Hexion, General Motors, Procter & Gamble and Phillips.
Doug is a realistic optimist who enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters in Cincinnati, Ohio. In addition to business, he enjoys music, food, wine, laughing, reading, learning, sports and just about anything outdoors, including skiing, fishing, golfing, hiking and sitting on the beach.
